Both my parents influenced me greatly; my father was a kind and charitable man, a great orator and Prof., and my mother was a designer and builder of beautiful homes.

Countless hours growing up were spent looking at building design, entries, roof lines, etc. I grew up with an abiding interest in architecture and building design.

After college and a year of travel around the States, I moved to California from Canada and lived up on the slopes of Mt. Shasta for 8 years. I regularly participated in Native American Sweat Lodge ceremony, and learned from Karuk medicine man Charlie Thom to recognize the natural dynamic forces of earth energy Qi/Prana/Mana/the Force in the landscape.

It was on Mt. Shasta in 1986 that I first heard of and then invited Mata Amritanandamayi to have programs. Also fondly called Amma, she is a pre-eminent spiritual leader and humanitarian with consultative status at the UN for her highly successful humanitarian projects. EmbracingtheWorld.org

I found myself moving to Kerala India and spending 10 years based in Amritapuri to study India's living ancient wisdom and do service work, one of the highlights of my life. It was here that I learned about the concept of Karma, and that living with good Vastu (the Feng Shui of India) can have a noticeably positive impact on how our lives unfold.

FLYING STAR FENG SHUI EXPERT

Shasta from Jais_edited.jpg

These experiences have significantly influenced my desire to help others live a better life.

I moved to Maui in 1998, and eventually settled in Ha'iku with my husband and nearby family.

As a realtor on Maui, I was unique in that I was able to take people out only one time to show them their ideal home, due to my innate Feng Shui insight. I found I could look at the layout of a home and have a sense of what kind of impact it would have on the people living there.

Buying a home is the biggest investment most of us will ever make.  I wanted to be sure that the homes I helped people get would be supportive of their life and goals.

As my interest in using my Feng Shui skills grew, I realized that a tried and true system with study under a master would be essential. My studies over the last two decades include the metaphysical science of Flying Star Feng Shui in the Feng Shui Research Center (FSRC) of Grand Master Joseph Yu, where I am recognized as a Professional Flying Star Feng Shui Consultant.

On the Board for 8 years and a long time supporter of La'aKea Village in Paia, I also enjoy kayaking with the whales in season, paddle boarding, teaching meditation Pro Bono, raising Monarch butterflies, cooking meals at the Maui Homeless Shelter, and am otherwise passionately studying Flying Star Feng Shui and honing my skills to the next level.

About Grand Master Yu

Feng Shui Research Center founder:

"Yu studied Mathematics (B.Science) and majored in Physics in the University of Hong Kong in the early 1960's.

He abhorred all kinds of superstition and vowed to destroy such absurd beliefs of ignorant people. He then frequented libraries, trying to find fault with Astrology and Feng Shui. The deeper he went into the subject, the more excited he became about the rich legacy of ancient culture.

While Joseph Yu was a mathematics teacher after his graduation, he was lucky to have as his neighbor one old Feng Shui master. This old master was very kind to disclose a lot of secrets of the five arts to him even though he was not one of the old master's apprentices. Joseph Yu founded the Feng Shui Research Center in 1998 In order for more people to understand what Feng Shui really is."

I am greatly indebted to Master Yu for sharing his knowledge and wisdom.

Master Yu has now retired from teaching Feng Shui. I am one of a handful of people in the West trained in this advanced level of Feng Shui called Flying Star Feng Shui.

This universe keeps flowing, following its own rhythm, harmony and tune. Thus, human beings need to chart the path of their lives according to the tune and rhythm of Nature. Otherwise, life will automatically become a battle.
